The Sullivan County Child Passenger Safety Seat Program

The Sullivan County Child Passenger Safety Seat Program is a program which provides car seats to families (Pregnant mothers or mothers with children newborn to 8 years old) who reside in Sullivan County and meet the following criteria: 

1)      The family must be low income and need of a car seat; must fall within the income guidelines for agency sliding fee scale for family size; (receiving Medicaid, food stamps, or WIC).

2)       The family receives education and instruction regarding safety awareness; N.Y.S. Laws pertaining to use of and proper installation of the car seat as per child size and weight by a NYS certified technician. 

3)       The family must bring their child, current seat, and vehicle as well as proof of permanent residence.  (Drivers Licence with picture ID)

A permanent fitting station is maintained at Pubic Health Services in Liberty.  During mild weather two large events are held that are open to the general public by appointment for car seat education and proper installation of car seats. For an appointment, call 845-292-0100, ext. 2250.

 

 Crib4Kids

Crib4Kids © provides new Graco Pack ‘n Play portable cribs to residents of Sullivan County who are within the last month of their pregnancy or have an infant less than six months of age, and who are in need of a crib as the primary sleeping place for their infant.  Requests for a crib must be made through a referring agency; no self-referrals will be accepted.  Only one crib will be given per family unless there are multiple births.  Participants must attend an informational session at regularly scheduled clinics at the Shared Clinic Facility before receiving their crib. Back to School with PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program

Now that schools are open, the PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program (PRASAD CDHP) has resumed serving patients aboard the mobile dental clinic at schools in Sullivan County.

We welcome new and existing patients from six months to 19 years of age. PRASAD CDHP accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid. Services are provided by appointment only. Walk in patients are not accepted. For information on applying for dental services, or to schedule an appointment, please call 845.434.0376, ext. 116.

PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program (PRASAD CDHP) is a program of The PRASAD Project, a philanthropic expression of the SYDA Foundation. Sullivan County Wellness Committee

"Eat Healthy. Move More." is a countywide wellness Campaign designed to promote the involvement of Sullivan County residents in nutrition and physical activity programs and events in their communities, schools, and at work sites.

The Sullivan County Wellness Committee works with schools, businesses and community groups to promote policy and environmental changes that will improve physical activity and nutrition throughout Sullivan County.
