The mission of the Network is to collaborate to improve the health status of Sullivan County residents by increasing access to coordinated, cost effective health care services. Our updated work plan is designed to address priority healthcare concerns recently identified by Rural Health Network members. Network priorities were developed from evaluating updated health status indicators as well as findings from the Marist Behavioral Health Survey recently conducted under the auspices of the Rural Health Network.

The Sullivan County Rural Health Network has specifically concentrated its focus upon improving the community's health status in several critical areas including enhancing Sullivan County's youth and adolescent health status through a county wide obesity reduction education program, reducing Sullivan County's excessive rates of adolescent alcohol and substance abuse, enhancing access to primary care and medical specialty services for medically indigent and underserved Sullivan County communities, enhancing access to dental health education and treatment services for Sullivan County's extensive population of medically indigent children, further reducing Sullivan County's high teenage pregnancy rates.
